Give blood, young man

One of the things that gets me to praying is to see a lot of my church's young people putting on years and waiting, waiting, waiting....to find a spouse. And so it was interesting when my wife and I donated blood...one of the phlebotomists noted that she was having an interesting time with guys who more or less expected the girl to ask them out.

And so Mrs. Bubba and I agreed that single young men could do little better than to give blood. Who knows--they could meet a pretty young phlebotomist who would be delighted to meet a young Christian man who's at least man enough to risk a needle poke.

That's the most hilarious post! Should I donate bloog to meet an eligible bachelor? That's one thing I never do is donate blood- too squeamish!

Whoops I spelled that bloog and not blood!

Ya, I think they might reject your bloog, but probably not your blood. :^)

I highly encourage it, and it's OK even if you don't like needles. 93 donations for me, and I still don't watch it going in.

And the people taking it? Well, I can't guarantee an eligible bachelor or bachelorette, but it's almost always someone with an intersting story. Somali refugee, Russian grandmother, a woman who went to school with Tony Dungy, Filipino wearing 24k gold cross, and so on.

Probably (sorry) more eligible bachelorettes among the bunch than bachelors, though.

Better for them to wait then to marry too early and end up divorced! I have seen many of my Bible college peers who did not wait and their marriages ended in divorce..

Terry, with your permission, can I build on that thought for a future post?

Sorry, I did not stumble back here until today... Yes, you can and it looks like you already did.

I've got a spouse so giving blood doesn't open those doors for me ... but I view every blood donation event as an opportunity to share my testimony. They've got a captive audience while the needle is in my arm, and I have a captive audience while they are poking me!

And you can encourage the young singles you work with to give blood, too!

See you soon!
