When I read Ann Coulter's column this morning, I thought that it couldn't possibly be true that Angela Davis was a professor of "History of Consciousness". No way a university could be that stupid.

Do you have plans for your kids vis a vis eventual post-secondary education? It's a long ways away, but I'm not wild about the idea of sending mine to one of these places. That's probably too defensive, but...
Plan one is homeschooling; we're starting to teach them things that will get them high school and college credit already. So wherever they go, they'll hopefully have to spend less time there.
And for what it's worth; no, we're not that big of go-getters. We're just trying to get to the real nuts & bolts of education.
Once they're at that age, there are a number of excellent private schools that aren't terribly effected by this; Patrick Henry, Grove City, New Saint Andrews, Hillsdale, and a host of others, I hope.
Yea, for the real nuts and bolts you can get that at home. So much of what you learn in college isn't really of any use (unless you need chaff for something).
