I for one, will burn a bunch of branches and throw some leaves on too (for the smoke)! It's the least I can do!
Perhaps some polar bears will happen along and they all cuddle up together for survival.
Guitarman, your comment reminded me of something I read today. Our state auditor general wrote an op-ed that ran in our local paper today, in which he mentioned that by order of the governor, "Pennsylvania" has to reduce its use of fossil fuels by 20% by a certain date. Now I'm pretty sure he meant "state government" rather than the state, but you can hardly fail to understand a state-level politician being unable to understand the distinction between the government and the whole state, right?
So anyway, reading the claim that "Pennsylvania" was supposed to reduce its use of fossil fuels immediately made me want to go out and burn something, ANYTHING, in my back yard, and produce as much carbon as possible, completely uselessly. Of course I really don't think that way -- I think conserving what we've been given and not making things messier than we need to is all good. But these governmental nanny types sure know how to provoke a reaction with their rhetoric!
You might find that the folks in the state legislature have mandated an overall reduction in carbon emissions. The morons in Pig's Eye Landing (St. Paul) did.
Oh, it's not beyond the realm of possibility, but given that I've not heard anything to that effect, Occam's Razor inclines me to think that a state auditor confusing the government for the length and breadth of the state and all the inhabitants thereof, strikes me as the more likely possibility. You know, when you hear hoofs, and all that. ;-)
