Since getting married, my wife and I have learned how to make yeast breads, sourdough breads, pasta, gnocchi, nan, chapati, matzo, pies, tortes, cakes, corn and flour tortillas....to the point where our children won't even eat the store bought versions.
....and somehow I'm not able to lose weight. Now why is that? I'm thinking it's because my bike is too old.

Well......ISTM there's some territory between Dr. Atkins and "consume all the grains you want and never gain an ounce." ;-)
Homemade bread products are "addictive" -- not in the sense that there's bad stuff that you crave, just that they really can be soooo good it's hard to limit yourself And since they're not, like, ice cream or something, it's harder to persuade yourself that excess is really bad.
