Since apparently most of my readers are from the Deep South--places like Florida, Colorado, and so on--perhaps it will be of interest to note some goings-on important up north. Specifically, the Western Collegiate Hockey Association has been exposed by Michigan State and Boston College as the posers they are. There are no WCHA teams in the national championship game this year. In fact, only one of the Frozen Four teams was from the WCHA.

I'm still sad when UMaine loses, even to MSU.
"MAC"? WTAAF? (What's That An Acronym For?)
Colorado <=> "Deep South?" I don't think so! We not grit-eaters here!
Mid-American Conference. And yashure, just ask a Minnesotan or Mainer/Mainiac; Colorado IS the "Deep South" to hotdish-eaters just as certainly as the Twin Cities are the "Deep South" to dem Cannucks, eh. :^)
(wasn't trying to pick on the Black Bears, Joe--just WCHA fans around here)
Hockey? What's that?
and, incidentally, Deep South is a phrase with a definite meaning. It includes states like Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama....not Florida.
You're dealing with technical terms here, yankee boy (This coming from a New Hampshire born, Nevada/PA/NY/FL raised kid...not exactly a 'southerner', though I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express), you can't go changing their meaning all willy-nilly.
Quite true, Shawn, but I'm having fun at Mark's expense.
