It turns out that the model for the new Lions helmet and logos was none other than Bert Lahr.
(BTW, if you want to keep Lions out of your backyard, just put up goalposts)
PS: rumors that the new Vikings logo will be modeled after Larry the Cucumber (as Lyle) have not been confirmed.

Coming from a region where Chief Wahoo is upheld as a cultural tradition, am I supposed to find it remarkable that a sports team has picked a cartoonish logo?
Nah, the joke is simply that the (dandi)Lions and Viqueens have historically tried to at least look fierce and intimidating.
(and football teams are less tolerant of sissy-looking cartoons than baseball teams as well)
are the lions redesigning their logo? they be better off redesigning some defensive personel.
and learn not to fear goal posts.

They did last year, which was the joke (fizzle fizzle).....and my take is that they need to redesign the front office, and the personnel will take care of itself.
