Government planning achievements

Apparently, the new Yankee Stadium (costing $800 million or so) is so overpriced, they can't even sell out seats when the Red Sox come to town.

Great idea, y'all. I remind this forum that Wrigley Field was built for only $250,000($5 million adjusted for inflation), was funded completely with private money, is still in use, and is the best ballpark in the league. When you pay attention to ROI, you get Wrigley Field sold out. When you don't, you get the new Yankee Stadium.

never been to wrigley, though i know they have a dedicated fan base there. at least as dedicated as the yankees.

but still, seats for baseball games are awefully expensive. i dont get it.

Don't forget about Dodger Stadium which is even better than Wrigley Field and was also built with private money...

Well, one for two isn't bad. Dodger S. was built with private money, but it can't hold a candle to the old ballparks like Fenway and Wrigley.

Best of the *stadiums*, perhaps, but hardly ranks up there with a real *ballpark*. :^)
