Evidently it turns out that when you take children from the loving care of their parents and put them in a day care center, the children are more likely to have behavioral problems. Evidently, the correlation holds across all income levels and quality of care.
Wow, it's like God gave children into the care of parents for a reason or something.

But the family can have a better life because of two incomes, I mean they can get a bigger home, a nice ski boat, and a cottage in the mountains so the family can "enjoy" God's blessings. I heard of a dual income couple that make over $200K and their teenage kids were having problems & not wanting to go to church. Somehow, they were really shocked and couldn't understand why.
mercy...you and i both know of a wealthy church somewhere with wealthy families with wealthy children who don't give a crap about church.
and, much as I'd like it to be because the two parents are working, lots of them are single-workers.
And I'd bet those "rich" families are ones where parents try to substitute mammon for time and love. Thoughts, Shawn?
I'm starting to notice a trend; social researchers will compare their "target" family/life structure to just about anything but loving nuclear families. More difficult to figure out which families really care for their children this way, but I'd bet a nickel or two that they just might find a statistically significant difference.
And, of course, they'd be pillaged in the media and academia for that horrible thing!
Shocking indeed.
From the NY Times article ...
"The investigators have financing to follow the same children into high school, and are proposing to follow some into their 20s."
Let's make some predictions regarding their future findings ...
"Drug Use Linked to Time in Daycare"
"Teenage Sex Linked to Time in Daycare"
"Sunday NY Times Readership Linked to Time in Daycare"
"Executive Drive Linked to Time in Daycare"
"Postmodern Mindset Linked to Time in Daycare"
Okay, Okay, I've taken this a bit too far ... ;-)
Good dog!
Seriously, you've got a great point; when we put kids into forcibly secular arenas, we will end up with most of those results. The question is whether it'll be statistically significant or not, not whether it will occur.
Yep; and parents who would forcibly place their children into said arenas , are most likely (though not certainly) fostering a secural environment at home. There are, of course, exceptions and some parents (e.g. single parents) may not have the same choice when it comes to placing their children in daycare.
My paws aren't working this morning ... secural = secular.
Actually, the truth is, I've spent too much time in doggy daycare and my spelling is lagging behind. (I had to go and look up the spelling in my doggy dictionary.)
