....a local church operates a "Hansel and Gretel" daycare, which would seem to indicate that the parents are just fine with the idea of leaving their children to fend for themselves in the woods, possibly falling into the hands of a cannibalistic witch.
Either that, or they don't remember the story. We'll see if there will be a "Cinderella's stepsisters Podiatry Clinic" in the near future here.

be thankful that yer church is Grimm-accurate compared to others.
Not my church. :^) But appropriately, the church (apparently of course) in favor of child-eating witches is one of the mainline liberal theology churches that approves of prenatal infanticide.
But remember, Hansel and Gretel defeated the witch and caused her to die by means of her own trap. Maybe they have an emphasis on spiritual warfare?
