What would you say...

...if the likely Democratic candidate for President reported no interest on his tax returns until 2005, as well as negligible dividend income and few capital gains?

Well, you have your opportunity now. Barack Obama, despite income (with his wife) of around $200,000 per year, reported no taxable interest or dividends in 2001, 2003, and 2004, and negligible amounts in 2000 and 2002--and it appears that neither his tax preparer nor the IRS called him on it.

If other people notice this, it could get very interesting.

The original post notes his low charitable giving; somehow his great affection for his pastor didn't seem to translate into financial support for his church. Sad to say, that doesn't surprise me with liberals anymore--Al Gore was well known to be very stingy that way as well. However, this tax form thing is very interesting.

(and also not unprecedented for a Chicago politician; Harold Washington had a scandal of "forgetting" to file his tax returns for a number of years)

It is the eternal, perpetual double-standard:

Democrat - no problem, they will justify or explain away, but never admit that they did something wrong, even though they did!

Republican - they would be tarred and feathered before the sun was down FOR THE SAME OFFENSE!

Makes you want to move to Switzerland!

You are a funny guy Bike Bubba! Do you know anything about what Harold Washington did for the city of Chicago?

This is why you and I will never see eye to because your allegiance lies with your country and your political preference way before your allegiance to the Kingdom of God. It is sad to see how everything you say is so politically driven even in the realm of your faith.

What's even more discouraging is all the comments on this blog that basically say the same thing. Can I just say this to you and your readers...

Jesus is not an american republican white man from Minnesota. I think you need to chew on that for a while. You and your readers.

I am going to tell you something else...

America is not God's chosen country anymore more than any other country in the world.

I look forward to hearing your rebuttal as well as all the other folks who have somehow been deceived that the US is a christian nation and God is a Republican.

And please do not start using scripture out of context. You seem to be pretty good at that.

What a joke!

Jesus wasn't anonymous either.

Anonymous, any further anonymous posts will be deleted, as will unsubstantiated verbal assaults such as you have engaged in.

Care to say anything about the apparent fact that Obama and his tax preparer apparently think we'll believe he didn't have any interest bearing bank accounts until 2005? That apparently he sent his wife into one of Chicago's rougher neighborhoods carrying a nice big wad of cash?

And again, you'd better use your name, or your posts will be deleted.

I see....and would you also like rebuttals of the beliefs that the sky is blue, cows go moo, and Minnesota is north of Florida?

When you find people who believe those ridiculous things you've suggested, you might ask them to rebut your very sound assertions. though why you'd waste your time on such odd people, I don't know. I've never met any, although a lot of them seem to exist inside the heads of people who post anonymously on the Internet. Anonymous posters (and sometimes nonymous ones as well) always seem to be arguing with those imaginary people when they encounter conservative Christians, instead of the other real people in the conversation.

BTW, yes, I do know what Washington did TO the city of Chicago, and no, it wasn't pretty.
